Homemade Laundry Detergent

In an effort to get rid of as many toxins and chemicals in our home I have made a list of things I want to change. The list is in order of what we use the most on a daily basis. I have been using this laundry detergent for a week now and I love it! Trust me with four kids, three dogs and my wonderful husband I do two loads of laundry everyday so a week is plenty of time for me to see if it works well! Here it is for you!

                                    Homemade Organic Laundry Detergent
                                           16 cups of baking soda
                                           12 cups of washing soda
8 cups of grated Castile soap
                                           10-12 drops of essential oil

Grate the Castile soap and mix all ingredients. It is that easy! I got my Castile soap at HEB, baking soda at Costco and washing soda at Walmart. One bar of Castile soap makes about 2 cups grated. I use 2 tablespoons in each load and put it right into the washer (in an he machine) not in the drawer. I chose to use doTERRA's essential oil blend purify in mine. Purify is great for getting rid of any yucky smells. Not only is this chemical and toxic free, it does wonders for the budget. I hope you love it as much as I do!
